At the time of writing, AC Milan are the only side in Europe’s top five leagues yet to have dropped a single point this season.

I Rossoneri are the leaders of the Serie A division and have continued with their fine form in the UEFA Europa League. Indeed, they are not a side that many will fancy to win the title this season, however Stefano Pioli has shown that the club could have been making a disastrous decision back in the summer.

AC Milan almost replaced the manager with Ralf Rangenick earlier in the year, however Pioli had managed to convince legend, Paolo Maldini, that he was the man for the job at the San Siro.

If it were not just for his impressive start to the season, then perhaps the fact that he has been able to handle Zlatan Ibrahimovic will have been considered a huge positive in keeping the manager around the club.

Of course, the Swede has a huge character and personality, however there also used to be an over-reliance on the huge forward in years gone by as well, but know that is not the case anymore. If the forward can continue producing the goods on the pitch, though, bettors would be advised to check out online-betting.org/at for all their gambling needs as they could potentially find some great offers to kick start some top bets.

Simon Kjaer has also been another bright spot for I Rossoneri this season as he has surprised many with his performances at the back. The 31-year-old has proven crucial for AC Milan so far and the Denmark international has brought an element of calm and assertiveness to their backline.

Hakan Calhanoglu has also benefited under the guidance of Pioli at the San Siro, as well. The Turkey international arguably lost his way a little in the past, however he has started to be the star and produce the performances many will have touted him to do in the earlier stages of his career.

However, as The Daily Mail’s analysis of the top teams in Serie A so far suggests, there are some negatives that I Rossoneri need to address and can not allow continuing for too long.

The biggest problem, which might not be something that can be fixed immediately, is the inexperience factor.

Pioli’s side have the lowest average squad age in the league (23.6 years), as Milan try to promote the youth through the ranks, rather than spend big money – perhaps similar to the way chief executive Ivan Gazidis used to oversee things at Arsenal in the past.

Although a smart strategy for the future, it could impact AC Milan this season a little.
